Maverick Duck Press was founded in 2005 to help give a voice to undiscovered talent in poetry. We are a small chapbook micro-press that publishes limited run, saddle stapled chapbooks. We look for fresh talent with an eye for detail, a powerful voice and the ability to make the reader feel something. Our books are available through this website and via readings from our poets. MDP has been a labor of love, and it exists for the sake of the work and the art of poetry.

All chapbook manuscripts should be sent as a PDF and contain no more than 18 pages. No simultaneous submissions or previously published manuscripts/chapbooks, however, a manuscript may contain poems within it that have been published in print or online lit mags. Due to the large amount of submissions we receive, a response in regards to submissions could take up to four months. We do not accept submissions through postal mail.
We offer a payment of twenty chapbooks to poets chosen for publication. We also offer a 50% discount if the author chooses to purchase additional copies. This discount stands for as long as the title remains in publication at MDP.
Micro-chapbook submissions should not exceed a total of ten poems. The above guidelines apply to micro-chaps, as well. Published micro-chapbooks become a free download in our catalog. Send manuscripts to maverickduckpress@yahoo.com
